The bearings are one of the most important parts of the scooter. They have a significant impact on the quality and speed of the ride. Special shock-resistant bearings are used in scooters; do not use regular bearings or those for roller skates.
The quality of the bearings is evaluated and tested by the bearings normalization committee in the USA Annular Bearing Engineering Committee, abbreviated as ABEC. The ABEC standard only specifies the manufacturing precision of the bearings, not the material and smoothness of the surface of the balls in the bearing, so we may find that bearings with a lower ABEC rating perform better. Generally, with branded manufacturers, the higher the ABEC rating, the better the bearings will perform.
