Wheels are one of the most important parts of any stunt scooter. They affect speed, stability, and how well the scooter performs tricks. Although they are made to withstand hard impacts and grinds, they are not indestructible. The right choice and care therefore decide on their lifespan.
Wheels are primarily distinguished by their diameter:
100 mm – lightweight and easy to handle, ideal for beginners.
110 mm – the most common variant, universal for park and street.
120–125 mm – faster, more stable, suitable primarily for skateparks. However, they require a compatible fork, brake, and deck.
The larger the wheel, the better it maintains speed and overcomes bumps, but it is slightly heavier.
Hardness is indicated by numbers (e.g., 86A, 88A, 90A):
Softer (≈86A and below) – better grip, more comfortable ride on the street.
Harder (≈88A and above) – faster, suitable for skateparks, but less shock absorption.
The standard hardness is around 88A. Most users do not worry about the hardness of the rubber.
Plastic core – a cheaper option for beginners, lower lifespan, not suitable for hard impacts.
Aluminum core – strong and durable, the most common choice for advanced riders.
Spoked – lightweight but less sturdy.
Hollow – lightweight, with the possibility of attractive design.
Full core – the strongest, designed for demanding riding.
The most common is 24 mm, but there are also wider variants 28–30 mm.
Standard narrower wheels 24 mm → lighter, faster response.
Wider wheels 28-30 mm (FAT) → greater grip, better speed retention. However, a compatible fork and deck are necessary.
Pointy – faster, suitable for technical tricks, but less grippy.
Rounded (flat) – more stable, better grip and no slipping.
Wheels are fitted with bearings that ensure smooth operation. The significance of ABEC bearings is not worth discussing, as a higher number should mean faster rotation. The standard axle diameter is 8 mm (8STD); less common are 12 mm (12STD). When replacing bearings, keep the original spacers – they maintain the correct position and operation of the bearings.

flat spots or holes in the rubber (from braking or impacts),
peeling PU, known as dehub,
non-functional or seized bearings.
Land clean and straight.
Avoid sharp surfaces, stones, or shards.
Do not use the brake for sudden stops – this creates flat spots.
Do not ride in mud, water, or snow.
Do not throw the scooter unnecessarily and do not lend it to aggressive riders.
