Shim inserts for the fork are small, but very important parts that ensure compatibility between the bars and the fork, or provide compression on the fork. Thanks to them, you can safely connect components with different diameters and be sure that everything holds as it should.
The shim reduces the difference between standard and oversized bars (28/32 mm and 32/35 mm), so if you have, for example, an IHC fork and HIC bars, a 28/32 mm shim insert will allow you to connect them correctly. The HIC shim just needs to be placed on the completed and adjusted IHC compression system of the fork. Alternatively, you can replace the IHC shim of the fork with an IHC-HIC, but be careful of the exact diameter of the IHC fork!
