Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy that has been spreading to most of the world in recent years. Kendama can be played by all generations. It consists of a body (ken) and a ball (tama), connected by a sturdy nylon string. The body consists of three wooden cups (zara) placed on a wooden spike (saki). In the game, you try to catch the ball in one of the cups, on the spike, or balance it in various ways, with over 30,000 different techniques available. Kendama is a very fun toy that you can learn to play with very quickly, and it enhances motor skills, coordination, reflexes, balance, concentration, and more. This toy stands out above many of today's board and electronic games; Kendama does not require batteries! Kendama is becoming a sport and competitive discipline not only in Japan but also already in the Czech Republic.
