Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy that has spread to most of the world in recent years. People of all generations can play with Kendama. The Kendama consists of a body (ken) and a ball (tama), connected by a strong nylon string. The body consists of three wooden cups (zara) placed on a wooden spike (saki). In the game, you try to catch the ball in one of the cups, on the spike, or in various ways, and there are over 30,000 possible methods. Kendama is a very fun toy that you can learn to play with quickly and that strengthens motor skills, coordination, reflexes, balance, concentration, and more. This toy stands out above many of today’s board and electronic games; Kendama does not need batteries! Kendama is becoming a sport and competitive discipline not only in Japan but also in the Czech Republic.
