Kendama is a traditional Japanese toy that has been spreading to most of the world in recent years. People of all generations can play with Kendama. The Kendama consists of a body (ken) and a ball (tama) connected by a strong nylon string. The body consists of three wooden cups (zara) placed on a wooden spike (saki). When playing, you try to catch the ball in one of the cups, on the spike, or to balance them in various ways, of which there are more than 30,000. Kendama is a very fun toy that you can learn to play very quickly, and it enhances motor skills, coordination, reflexes, balance, concentration, and more. This toy stands out above many of today’s tabletop and electronic games; Kendama does not require batteries! Kendama is becoming a sport and a competitive discipline not only in Japan but also already in the Czech Republic.
